WORLD TURKISH NEWS.worldpres : In Turkey, the government is in disarray; there is infighting within the regime, and this infighting is expanding. The conflict threatens society. The country is ungovernable. The salvation of the country is an early election. They are stubbornly resisting giving up power. Could the end of this situation be a disaster? Internal political debates in Türkiye, issues such as the relationship between the government and the opposition, and calls for early elections are evaluated from different perspectives among political scientists, sociologists, and the public. Two main perspectives stand out regarding the effects of political tensions on the future of the country: 1. The Approach That Highlights Risks and Concerns (Critical View) Those who advocate this view state that the deepening of political polarization and administrative disagreements can have negative consequences for the country: Economic Instability: It is thought that political uncertainties and the erosion of the trust environment can directly and negatively affect foreign investments, inflation, and overall economic stability. Social Polarization: There is concern that the hardening of rhetoric could weaken social ties and lead to social unrest. Institutional Functioning: It is argued that internal conflicts within the administration could slow down the decision-making mechanisms of state institutions and make crisis management more difficult. In this context, it is suggested that the ballot box (early election) is a method of renewing legitimacy and reducing tension. 2. An Approach That Highlights the System's Resilience (Balanced View) Another perspective takes a distanced approach to disaster scenarios by emphasizing Türkiye's long-standing state tradition and democratic experience: Democratic Maturity: Türkiye has a long history of elections and ballot boxes. It is recalled that political crises and heated debates have occurred in the past, but each time they have been resolved through constitutional limits and elections. Institutional Memory: It is argued that no matter how intense political debates may be, fundamental state mechanisms such as bureaucracy and security have the power to continue functioning and prevent chaotic situations. The Nature of Politics: It is argued that power struggles and disagreements within coalitions or parties are natural in democracies; this should not be seen as a "disaster," but rather as part of the dynamics of politics itself. In short, while it is undeniable that current political tensions carry risks, whether this situation will result in an absolute "catastrophe" depends on the country's institutional resilience, the extent to which democratic mechanisms are implemented, and the prudent actions of political actors.
