Iran names three countries, including Turkey: "If the US intervenes, we will attack your bases."
A senior Iranian official told Reuters, "Tehran has informed regional countries, from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to Türkiye, that it will attack US bases in those countries if the US targets Iran, and has asked these countries to prevent Washington from attacking Iran."
Protests in Iran, which began on December 28 against the rising cost of living, quickly escalated into anti-government demonstrations and violence. US President Trump, who frequently supports the protesters, has threatened intervention against Iran.
REGIONAL COUNTRIES ASKED THE US TO STOP
A senior Iranian official, in an interview with the British news agency Reuters, stated that Iran had warned countries in the region that US bases in the region would be targeted if the US attacked. The official said, "Tehran informed countries in the region, from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to Türkiye, that if the US targets Iran, there will be attacks on US bases in these countries, and asked these countries to prevent Washington from attacking Iran."
"DIRECT COMMUNICATION BETWEEN ARAKCHI AND WITKOFF HAS BEEN SUSPENDED"
A senior Iranian official said that direct communication between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi and US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff has been suspended following US President Donald Trump's threats of intervention in Iran. The official emphasized that the US threats undermined diplomatic efforts and that planned meetings between the two officials to find a diplomatic solution to the long-standing nuclear dispute were canceled.

ORDER FOR SWIFT TRIAL IN VIOLENT INCIDENTS
Iranian Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohsen Ejei visited a prison in Tehran where protesters are being held. Ejei stated that they plan to act swiftly against those arrested for deadly violence during the protests. Ejei said, "If someone has burned another, beheaded someone, and set someone on fire, we must act quickly. If we want to do something, we must do it now. If we want to do something, we must do it quickly. Any delay will reduce the deterrent effect. If it is delayed for two or three months, it will not have the same effect."
