"Some officials on the other side are threatening conflict if the negotiations don't yield results. If a conflict is imposed on us... all US bases are within our reach and we will boldly target these bases in host countries," Nasirzadeh said at a weekly press conference. US President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened to bomb Iran if it does not reach a new nuclear deal. The next round of talks is expected to take place this week; Trump said the talks would be held on Thursday, while Tehran says they will take place in Oman on Sunday. Iran is expected to present a counter-offer to the nuclear deal proposal previously rejected by the US; Trump said on Tuesday that Iran had become "much more aggressive" in nuclear talks. Tehran and Washington are in conflict over uranium enrichment on Iranian soil, which Western powers see as a potential step toward developing nuclear weapons. Iran maintains that its nuclear program is entirely civilian. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said in a post on X platform on Wednesday, "As talks resume on Sunday, it is clear that an agreement that can ensure the continued peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program is achievable and can be reached quickly." Another sticking point in the talks was Iran's missile program. Ballistic missiles make up a significant portion of Iran's arsenal. Nasirzadeh said Tehran recently tested a missile carrying a two-ton warhead and does not accept the limitations. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in February that Iran needs to further develop its military power, including its missiles.
