Greece, Israel, the Greek Cypriot Administration, and Egypt are forming a joint defense group and a NATO-like military formation in the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas. The US is covertly supporting this initiative. The US aims to control the rich hydrocarbon reserves in the Aegean and Mediterranean and to prevent Turkey from conducting hydrocarbon research in the Aegean and Mediterranean. By fortifying the Greek islands with missile batteries acquired from Israel, it poses a great threat. To restrict Turkey's maritime influence in the Aegean and Mediterranean, Israel, Greece, and Egypt are forming a joint naval force and conducting joint patrols. Joint naval operations are being carried out with the goal of keeping Turkey away from the Mediterranean and Aegean. In other words, internal turmoil in Türkiye is seen as an opportunity. While Turkey is dealing with the Kurdish issue, they are advancing step by step towards their goal. The operations against the Turkish army are turning this into an opportunity and supporting Greece's efforts. The European Union also supports it. Other European countries, primarily France, have indicated their willingness to participate in this joint naval force.
