WHY THE CONTINENT OF MU IS IMPORTANT TO THE TURKS
esim1: The continent of Mu, said to have been submerged by a flood in the Pacific Ocean.
Mythology is a concept used in Turkish, meaning "the science of myth." James Churchward's (1851-1936) research on the continent of Mu is based on the compilation of these "myths." That's why I value the myths and narratives about Mu. We can find all the mysterious "truths" recorded in humanity's subconscious in these myths. These myths, held and told in the subconscious through symbols and icons, which we call archetypal cultural codes, may represent real-life events. These events are passed down from generation to generation in a fairytale-like and coded language through oral culture. The human consciousness can only retain real-life events in its memory by "mythologizing" them. This can also be called "Mythological Memory." According to renowned historian of religions Mircea Eliade, real-life historical events become part of the world of mythologies and fairy tales 200-300 years later. Mythologies have always captivated humanity and will continue to do so. The most important reason for this is that they are told and written in a mysterious language.
The compilation of "Oral Culture" began in the 19th century with the German brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. They traveled through villages and towns, compiling tales and legends told over centuries, transcribing them into written form and publishing them. They paved the way for other nations to compile their own legendary epics and mythologies. Through Elias Lönrot, the Finns realized they possessed an epic like the Kalevala.
And thus, "Westerners" realized that they did not belong to the Greek myths they had believed to be the foundation of their own culture for centuries, or to the Judeo-Semitic myths of Christian culture.
James Churchward's compilation of myths about the continent of Mu, which is assumed to have sunk in the Pacific Ocean, dates back to the early 20th century.
During the Archaic period, people, lacking a written archive or culture, passed down a wealth of information to future generations through symbols and icons. These symbols hold profound meaning for those who know how to read them. The Turks call these symbols "tamga," and the Turkic people are the nation that most frequently uses these abstract symbols.
The Turks carved their own logic and thought systems, lifestyles, beliefs, and family and clan tamgas onto the rocks of the lands they migrated to. They even used these symbols to identify their animals and personal belongings.
According to Eberhard, the Turks are the creators of abstract art. Since archaic times, the "tamgas" used by the Turks form the basis of these mysterious symbols, which are intended to be "stylized" and conveyed. Since the Turks are the creators of abstract art, it is necessary to investigate these abstract symbols and iconography within the context of Turkish history or the origins of the "Turkish Myth," namely, the Mu civilization.
The data obtained by James Churchward and William Niven from Tibet and Mexico was not limited to myths alone. William Niven collected over 3,000 tablets in Mexico related to Mu. Churchward claims these tablets are 12,000 years old. Various iconography and symbols related to cosmology are depicted on the tablets. Churchward describes these iconographies as "Sacred and Inspired." These words are quite significant. He writes that, like all other iconography, it is "Sacred," meaning divine in origin, and "Inspired," meaning "Inspired" in the subconscious of specific individuals.
According to Bachofen, myth is the "interpretation of the symbol." According to him, emotions, thoughts, images, and patterns emerging from human consciousness first come to life as symbolic forms and then transformed into myths and mythologies. Ancient art has made the most profound and continuous use of symbols. So, what or where is the primary source of symbols and icons?
According to Plato; These images emerge from the dormant womb, which he describes as the world of ideas. According to the renowned psychoanalyst C. Gustav Jung, "Images and Symbols" are a kind of energy that comes to the subconscious from a divine source.
So why did humankind attempt to express certain hidden truths or myths through these symbols, incomprehensible at first glance? Was it to prevent them from being understood by everyone?
For archaic humans, expressing mysterious things with words would have been disrespectful to God. These could only be expressed through mythological symbols. This may have been due to the fact that mysterious narratives were told in fairytale language and symbols so that they could be more easily remembered in the subconscious and passed on to the next generation. Throughout history, the "Sacred" has always remained mysterious and unknown. "God" is this unknown, a mystery that can only be understood through images and symbols. Symbols speak to the soul, words to the outside world.
Another question is who created these myths and iconography. Throughout the ages, humanity has communicated with the "Unknown" through these myths and symbols. The creators and mediators of all these "Oral Culture" and "Written Culture" designs
