Demographic Change in Cyprus: When the Ottoman Empire conquered the island in 1578, Lala Mustafa Pasha
There were Turks on the island, coming to the island with Arabs, Spaniards, Venetians, Genoese, and Central Asian immigrants. After the conquest of Cyprus, Turks were brought from Anatolia. In other words, even before the conquest of Cyprus, there was a Turkish presence on the island. In other words, Turks were one of the settled peoples of Cyprus. The Turks who mingled with the Anatolian Turks are the indigenous people of Cyprus. In other words, they were Turks before the Cyprus Peace Operation and are Turks now.
Turks were liberated from the oppression of the Greek Minority during the Peace Operation on July 20, 1974, and an autonomous Turkish administration was established by our late President Rauf Denktaş. When an agreement could not be reached with the Greeks, our late President Denktaş established the Federative Turkish State, and later the Northern Cyprus Turkish State. The state was established. We fought alongside the Turkish soldiers who participated in the peace operation. Cypriots are very fond of their freedom and independence. They have a parliament, hold their elections, govern themselves, and are independent. Cyprus is not the backyard of any government. The President is the head of that state, not a governor or undersecretary. And no one can demand that Cyprus be annexed to Turkey. Everyone will know their place. Cyprus is the last established Turkish state. Turkey must support the recognition of Cyprus. For a republic to exist, that country must have a currency. A state without a currency is simply a state. Cyprus must print its own currency. Cyprus is an independent and free Turkish state.
