IFJ - INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF JOURNALIST Turkey is playing out the biggest comedy of the year in the name of law because Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu is accused of many crimes, including forming a criminal organization and embezzlement. However, because they can't substantiate these accusations, an indictment can't be prepared and he can't be tried. However, he is being held in prison to prevent him from running for president in the elections. Now, the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor, unable to resolve the issue, has been indicted on espionage charges and summoned for questioning, and a new arrest warrant has been issued. In other words, they are playing a game within a game, and the government is pulling all sorts of strings to make the presidency a single-candidate election. The government is afraid of Ekrem İmamoğlu and is resorting to all sorts of illegal activities to keep him in prison. Life in Turkey is now a comedy.
