IFJ-INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF JOURNALIST
Dear Friends, the world does not understand what is happening in Turkey. The Islamo-fascist regime seized power in Turkey by exploiting democracy, but the Turkish people failed to grasp this. They began to insidiously and slowly change the regime. While the presidency was elected by parliament, they switched to a presidential system through a referendum and then gradually, they rendered the Turkish Grand National Assembly dysfunctional. They seized control of all state institutions. They took over public institutions with incompetent cronies. Judges and prosecutors began to be appointed from the AKP. The law has become completely politicized. Now, opposition parties are being attacked through legal means. They are imposing religion on the people and forcing them to do what they want. They are dismissing civil servants committed to modern democracy and secularism. But the world is struggling to understand this. However, if Turkey were to be viewed from the opposition's perspective, rather than the government's perspective, the situation would be understood. The government's media, both print and broadcast, are propagating in favor of the government. You are ours. If you could look at it objectively, you would see the truth very easily. There is no peace in Turkey. There is poverty, misery, economic and political chaos, and the government is not going to the elections. It turns out that they came here to not give up their one-man power. JOURNALIST: Ertuğrul Demirözcan
