“There are more than 300 similar words between Native American languages and Turkish”
March 14, 2022 There is a sound equivalence between both languages”
Examining the similar words between the Turkish language and Native American languages in his presentation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ay said, “There are more than 300 similar words between the native American languages and the Turkish languages. According to the research, there are sound equivalences that can be directly seen between the Native American languages and the Turkish language. However, although some words are exactly the same, they are very far from each other in meaning. For example, the word ‘Arda’ in South America and the word ‘Arda’ around the Meriç River have no semantic connection.” He spoke.
Emphasizing that not only languages but also cultures are quite similar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ay stated that there are many common aspects from state administration to customs and traditions, from artistic understanding to national symbols and calendars used. Stating that this situation reveals the relationship between ancient civilizations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ay said, “Not only findings related to language, but also many cultural and religious elements reveal the relationship between Turks, Native Americans and ancient civilizations in America. It has almost been confirmed as a result of linguistic research that there was not one but several Turkish and Proto-Turkish migrations to America. Although the oldest of these migrations occurred in a large crowd, the native language was not lost and may have preserved its structure by merging with the language of the natives. A branch of this very old race, which is the ancestor of both Turks and Mongols and lived in Central Asia, migrated to America and became the ancestor of today's Native Americans. This distant relationship with Turks may help explain the Turkish elements in American native languages. However, all this evidence needs to be supported by more technical and detailed research.” he said.
